Tranalysis: Natural honey imported from New Zealand the most in China in H1 2016

Tranalysis Guangzhou: According to China Customs, China exported 63,429 tonnes of natural honey in H1 2016, down 8% YoY, with the export value of USD132.58 million, down 0.2% YoY. At the same time, China imported 2,958 tonnes of natural honey in H1 2016, down 0.8%, with the import value of USD37.72 million, up 24%.

Natural honey in China were mainly imported from New Zealand, Russia, Australia, Malaysia, the US, Mexico, Germany, Canada and France.

As for exporting, natural honey in China was mainly exported to Japan, Belgium, the UK, Spain, Germany, Thailand, Australia, Holland and Poland.

The average export price of natural honey in China was USD2.09/kg in H1 2016, up 9% YoY; while the average import price of natural honey in China was USD12.75/kg in H1 2016, up 25%.

 

The natural honey in China exported in a cheap price while foreign natural honey entered China market expensively, which was caused by the different qualities of domestic and foreign natural honey. It is believed that 90% of the foreign natural honey is ripe honey with less pollution and high quality, and that’s why the price of imported natural honey was five times more than that of exported ones from China.
