China’s saccharin output down 24% year on year


China’s three designated saccharin producers - Pingdingshan Coal Group Kaifeng Xinghua Fine Chemical Factory, Tianjin North Food Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Changjie Chemical Co., Ltd. - produced a total of 3,229.60 tonnes of saccharin in Q1 2015, a fall of 24.02% compared to the same period last year, according to statistics released by the China Sugar Assocation on May 7.

The three companies’ total inventory, meanwhile, was 68.58% higher at the end of March than at the same time last year at 905.85 tonnes.

Saccharin exports for Q1 2015 were 3,022.08 tonnes, according to China Customs, down 30.67% year on year.
